Shanghai is now battling China's worst COVID-19 outbreak since the emergence of the virus in late 2019 with the Covid-19 cases reaching record high of more than 27,000 despite more than two weeks of a stringent lockdown. China which is the only country that is following a Zero-Covid policy even now with an approach of mass lockdowns and testing to eliminate cases.
China also remains isolated from the rest of the world with tight travel restrictions.
14 Airport Authorities of India (AAI) airports are now equipped with the Ambulifts.
Ambulifts facility will help the flyers in reducing mobility under the Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyaan) of the Indian Government. AAI, in order to facilitate the passengers with reduced mobility.
Those on wheelchairs or stretchers, has procured 20 ambulifts for the airports that are having scheduled flight operations of Code C . The Ambulifts manufactured indigenously under the ‘Make in India’ Policy.
1. Ambulifts at airports can cater to six wheelchairs and two stretchers with an attendant at a time.
2. The ambulifts are fitted with Heating ventilation and Air conditioning system.
3. Ambulifts are procured at a cost of Rs. 63 lakhs per unit. The facility is also provided at a nominal token charge to the operating airlines at its airports.
The centre has launched India’s biggest ever Quiz Contest ‘Sabka Vikas Mahaquiz’ launched by the centre. First quiz theme is Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.
The quiz series has been launch on Ambedkar Jayanti, on the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Ambedkar who is an icon of social justice and empowerment.
The Sabka Vikas Mahaquiz is being organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology as a part of an outreach effort to build awareness in citizens.
The quiz aims to sensitize the participants about various schemes and initiatives and how to avail benefits from them.
The contest will be available in 12 languages and will carry a cash prize of Rs 2000 each for 1000 winners per quiz.
The mygov quiz has been launched at 5pm on April 14 and will be live till 11.30 pm on April 28th.

The goal of this scheme was to ensure no poor or vulnerable person or household went hungry.
All NFSA (National Food Security Act) beneficiaries were entitled to 5 kgs of free foodgrain every month Under the scheme.
The estimated financial outlay of this scheme was about Rs. 3.4 Lakh Crore.
The PMGKAY is a scheme that focuses on combating the effects of the covid pandemic on the poor of the country.
Over 1,000 Lakh MT of food grains have already been distributed under the scheme.
The scheme was successful in keeping extreme poverty low in India during the pandemic.
