MoU between India and Italy for cooperation in Phytosanitary issues

Cabinet approves Mou between India and Italy for cooperation in Agriculture and Phytosanitary issues and a wide range of other sectors including animal husbandry, agricultural research, food processing, and other additional fields.

The cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


Awarded for its effort to combat illegal wildlife trade

India was awarded the Certificate of Commendation.

India is awarded for its exemplary enforcement action in its regional and global effort to combat illegal wildlife trade. 

Award was conferred to the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB).

Union Minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Harsh Vardhan shared this information.


NASA study suggests Pluto may have liquid water oceans

This study was published in a journal titled - Icarus.

This journal stated that the heat generated by the gravitational pull of moons formed from massive collisions could extend the lifetimes of liquid water oceans beneath the surface of these large icy worlds.


National Nutrition Mission

The Union Cabinet approved the setting up of the National Nutrition Mission (NNM) with a three-year budget of Rs.9046.17 crore starting from 2017-18.

 The aims of the mission are to reduce stunting, under-nutrition, anemia among young children, women, and adolescent girls and reduce low birth weight.

The Supreme Court of India asked all the states and Union Territories to set up a trauma centre in each district of the country and make safety norms a part of the school curriculum.
